Gun-toting grandson of Donald Trump's billionaire business partner could go free on a $500k bond
The grandson of one of President Donald Trump's billionaire business partners is in custody for allegedly firing shots at an elementary school when children were playing outside, and residents worry he may be released.
Dylan Ruffin, 26, is being held on a $500,000 bond after he was taken into custody at his Mission home on Friday after a standoff with police.
Immediately before he was arrested, video obtained by KCTV-5 showed him exiting his home with a gun pointed at officers as police fired back.
Bullets believed to have been fired by Dylan, who is the grandson of Phil Ruffin, hit the Highlands Elementary School building, located across the street.
Residents now worry that Phil, 83, who is half owner of Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, will pay Dylan's bond allowing him to be freed as the case against him moves forward.

ShareDuring Michael Cohen's testimony before Congress about his dealing with Trump in February, a businessperson in Kansas was mentioned, and Phil said that was him.
The reference was made while Cohen was being questioned about who paid a class action lawsuit settlement of $25 million in favor students of the now defunct Trump University.

Phil said he believed he may have come up because around the time the settlement was paid, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas paid Trump $28 million in back fees that he was owed.
'The hotel paid him [what] was owed to him,' Ruffin told McClatchy DC in February. 'I don’t know what he did… It was his money.'
Ruffin is number 838 on Forbes' 2019 list of the richest people in the world, and residents worry he may use some of that money to buy his grandson's freedom, at least for the time being.
