Nicole Kidman's former flame 'left heartbroken' when she 'left him' for Tom Cruise
E Street actor Marcus Graham has spoken about his romance with Nicole Kidman for the first time, revealing he was left “heartbroken” and “cried for a long time” when she left him.
Marcus, now 59 revealed that he dated Nicole Kidman, who is now 56, when they were both in their early 20s. Kidman famously married Tom Cruise in 1990, after the pair met on the set of Days of Thunder, leaving her ex ‘heartbroken.’
Marcus Graham speaks out about Nicole Kidman ‘heartbreak’
Marcus Graham became a teenage heartthrob when he appeared on the Australian soap, E Street, and he’s now opening up about his relationship with Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman for the first time.
The couple dated when they were in their 20s, however, Nicole then ‘left’ the celebrity actor after falling in love with her Days of Thunder co-star, Tom Cruise.
“I was devastated and heartbroken, but that’s the way it goes, isn’t it? Why would I want to keep her in Australia and lock her away?! I don’t have any bad feelings there and I understand, he said in an interview with Woman’s Day.
At the time I cried for a long time. I was really hurt and confused, but I had lots to learn about the world,” the actor continued. However, he reveals he has ‘no bad words’ to say about his ex.
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise’s relationship timeline
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise met on the movie set of Days of Thunder in 1989 and got just a year later, on Christmas Eve 1990 in Colorado.
During their marriage, the Hollywood ‘power couple’ adopted Isabella and Connor Cruise in 1992 and 1995.
However, the romance tale wasn’t to be as the two broke hearts around the globe when they ended their marriage in 2001. The pair cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, with Cruise the one to file.
Just two years before their divorce, they co-starred in the 1999 movie, Eyes Wide Shut.
The Top Gun star then went on to marry Katie Holmes in 2006, however, their marriage came to an end six years later, in 2012.
The actress is now married to Keith Urban
After her marriage to Tom Cruise ended, Nicole went on to marry singer Keith Urban in 2006.
The pair first met at the G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles in 2005. The two exchanged numbers, but music star Keith didn’t actually call Nicole for another four months.
Speaking on the Ellen DeGeneres show years later in 2017, Kidman said: “I had such a crush on him and he wasn’t interested in me. It’s true!”
The couple now share two daughters together, Sunday and Faith. Sunday was born two years after their marriage, in 2008, whereas Faith was born two years after, in 2010.
